Comprehensive Environmental Impact Study, People’s Republic of China
As part of a baseline environmental impact assessment for a comprehensive EIS, Germano & Associates characterized over 650 km² of seafloor using sediment profile imaging technology. An entire bay in mainland China was assessed for an industrial client in one week of field sampling; over 1200 sediment profile images were collected and a subset analyzed to produce a thorough baseline characterization of physical and biological processes throughout the entire bay. The most severe impacts detected were associated with fish and oyster aquaculture rafts at various locations throughout the Bay. A final report was submitted within 60 days of completion of the field survey.
