West Hylebos Wood Waste Monitoring

Germano & Associates performed a sediment profile imaging survey at a log storage facility in the Hylebos waterway in Tacoma, WA. The purpose of the survey was to characterize benthic conditions at an active log storage and transfer facility prior to the Client vacating a lease of subtidal lands owned by the State Department of Natural Resources. The primary focus of the study was to assess any impacts to the benthic community from the deposition of wood debris. A total of 80 stations were sampled over two days and a complete analysis & report submitted within 60 days of the field study.
